Match the Smelt. "Smelt Bait" is a lipless minnow that has a unique body shape that allows it to perform panic actions that make baitfish run away.
The floating model produces a beautiful undertow and shows a stable action, and has a high ability to attract bass even when dead sticking on the water surface, but once rod action is applied, the baitfish will be attacked by a predator and panic. Creates water ripples.
The panic action that makes it jump out of the water will keep the bass interested and bring it to the bite. Even with a sinking model that can aim below the water surface, this panic action will lead you to a bite with its unpredictable dirt action that causes baitfish to run away.
