7" ECHOMAP ice fishing bundle with Panoptix PS22-IF pole-free live sonar. Mid-tier live sonar for ice anglers who want real-time fish arc detail below the hole.

Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 73sv 7" Ice Fishing Bundle (Panoptix pole-free live sonar bundle)

The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 73sv Ice Fishing Bundle is built specifically for hard-water anglers. It pairs the 7" ECHOMAP UHD2 73sv head unit with Panoptix PS22-IF pole-free live sonar transducer, in a portable carry case configuration ready to use on ice. This bundle includes the Panoptix PS22-IF, Garmin's pole-free live sonar transducer for ice fishing. "Pole-free" means no manual rotation pole sticking up through your shelter, the transducer handles beam steering internally, showing you live fish movement, lure drops, and bottom detail in real time. It's the middle tier of ice live sonar: more capability than traditional CHIRP, simpler and more affordable than LiveScope.

The PS22-IF shows down-looking live sonar, you watch fish actually approach your lure and react. For vertical jigging, deadsticking, and shelter-based fishing, this is genuinely different from traditional flasher or CHIRP sonar. Most customers who try it don't go back.

The 73sv head unit itself is the same 7"/9" UHD2 that bass anglers run on boats in open-water season. That means this bundle does double duty, mount it to your boat in summer (you'll need to buy a separate summer transducer like the GT54UHD-TM (CHIRP + ClearV + SideV)), and convert back to the ice transducer when hard water returns. Most ice anglers who buy this bundle end up using the head unit year-round rather than keeping it dedicated to ice.

Who This Ice Bundle Is For

This bundle is best for serious ice anglers, tournament ice fishermen, and anyone who wants live sonar performance without LiveScope pricing, particularly popular for walleye, lake trout, and crappie ice fishing. If you want forward-looking live sonar (see fish approaching from distance, not just below), step up to the 93sv + LiveScope Ice bundle (~$2,850) or LiveScope Plus (~$3,300). The Panoptix PS22-IF is down-looking only.

Choose This If...

• You fish 7" screen territory, the 7" size is readable while sitting on a bucket in a shelter, without being unwieldy to carry from hole to hole.
• You want a year-round Garmin unit, not just an ice unit, the 73sv head unit does double duty in summer with a different transducer.
• You want down-looking live sonar (Panoptix) at a mid-tier price point, without LiveScope complexity.
• You want LakeMaster VX ice-specific mapping, add a chip in the microSD slot for detailed contour maps of ice-fishing waters across the Midwest, Northeast, and Canada.
• Your budget is around $1999, this bundle tier delivers Panoptix pole-free live sonar bundle capability without the GPSMAP or Ultra 2 price step-up.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this bundle include live sonar?

Yes, includes Panoptix PS22-IF for pole-free down-looking live sonar. This is different from LiveScope (which is forward-looking). For forward-looking live sonar on ice, look at the LiveScope Ice bundles.

Can I use the head unit on my boat in summer?

Yes. The ECHOMAP UHD2 73sv is the same head unit bass anglers run in open water. To use it on your boat in summer, you'll need a summer transducer like the GT54UHD-TM (CHIRP + ClearV + SideV) sold separately for around $400-$500. Most customers who buy an ice bundle end up using the head unit year-round.

What battery do I need?

A 12V battery is required, not included. We recommend a 7-12Ah sealed lead-acid (AGM) or lithium battery. Lithium holds voltage better in cold, costs more. AGM is proven, cheaper, heavier. Both work; lithium is preferred by serious tournament anglers.

Will LakeMaster VX work with this?

Yes. The 73sv accepts LakeMaster VX Premium (ice fishing-optimized lake contour cartography) via the microSD slot. LakeMaster VX is highly recommended for ice anglers, it includes 1-foot contour detail on most major ice fishing waters across Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, New York, and Canada.

What's the difference between LiveScope and Panoptix?

LiveScope is forward-looking live sonar, see fish approaching your hole from up to 200 feet away. Panoptix PS22 is down-looking live sonar, see fish directly below your hole in real time. Both are live sonar, but they show different things. LiveScope is more versatile but costs more. Panoptix PS22 is simpler and less expensive but only shows what's directly beneath you.

Is this used in ice fishing tournaments?

Yes. Garmin ECHOMAP ice bundles are commonly used in major ice fishing tournaments across the Midwest, Canada, and the Northeast. Panoptix PS22-IF is widely used by tournament walleye and lake trout anglers.

Is this used on ice fishing rental trips or outfitter camps?

Yes. Ice fishing outfitters across northern Minnesota, Wisconsin, Manitoba, and Ontario commonly run Garmin ECHOMAP ice bundles for guest use. The portable carry case format makes for easy shelter-to-shelter transport.
