The Xero has a built-in laser rangefinder that fires when you press the trigger button. Can I use it without the laser?
Yes, the Xero supports preloaded fixed pins as well as customizable pin yardages, so you can use it as a traditional digital pin sight if the rangefinder dies. But the rangefinder is the headline feature; battery life on AAAs is excellent (~1 year / 25,000 ranges).

What's the maximum range?
