DESCRIPTION

Designed in Japan, the Deps Sakamata Shad Heavy Weight Soft Jerkbait builds on the proven action of the original Sakamata Shad, now infused with salt for added weight. This added density enhances casting distance and helps the bait sink faster, making it ideal for reaching deeper parts of the water column.

Its streamlined, low-resistance body design allows for an effortless side-to-side darting motion, even with minimal rod movementperfect for triggering reaction bites. The keeled fins near the head redirect water downward, lifting the bait upwards to mimic a fleeing shad skipping across the surface. When paused, the fins act as stabilizers, keeping the bait level during the fall. Combined with the salt-packed belly, the bait produces a subtle, natural shimmy as it descendsmuch like a soft stickbait.

A deep belly groove improves hook penetration, while a slot along the back allows for weedless rigging with your favorite EWG-style hook. This jerkbait excels when fished weightless, whether worked slow or fast, and is also highly effective on split-shot and Carolina rigspopular techniques in Japan for targeting fish in deeper water.

Available in a range of sizes and colors, the Deps Sakamata Shad Heavy Weight Soft Jerkbait puts a fresh spin on the classic jerkbait presentation, giving pressured fish something new and helping you land more of them.
